Back from Hallamshire today after a very good visit and an awful train journey home.

First person I saw was Paul who said it was good to see me looking so well. lol

I had a chest x-ray, did the shuttle and had an ecg as well as the usual bloods, stats etc and then saw Dr Thomas. They were really pleased because I looked and felt so good. I walked 220 metres which I was a little disappointed with, but he said that considering that the first time I did it I only did 80 meres it was excellent. I did say that some people seemed to be waking far more but he said that I should look upon myself as a individual and not compare lol He was also pleased with the fact that my sats were 98 and is going to talk to Dr Kiley to see if I should be taken in and tested to see if I needed nightly oxygen now. That led on to talking about flying and fit to fly certificates. He said that I didn't need to do a hospital test to see if I needed flight oxygen because anyone who has ph needs flight oxygen without any doubt. I asked about ginseng (Ginko Biloba) for my Reynauds and he said that would be okay and we discussed pressures and then he said they would see me in six months. Anyway all in all it was good, he said there is improvement and I am buzzing tonight lol

It seemed chaotic there today Carole.  I've never seen them so busy.  There seemed to be quite a few new patients and there wasn't the usual chat in the day room.  We went down to the restaurant for lunch (not keen on the sandwiches) and when we got back we ended up sitting on chairs in the corridor lol  because the day room and and the room opposite were full.  Then I as in with Dr Thomas for a while as i had some questions for him and when we came out all the chairs outside were full.  Then we had endless problems on the trains and didn't get home until about 7.20pm.  So tired now lol

So pleased it went well.  He's it can be chaotic but I still, always feel reassured.  Worry not that you did 220, when I began this journey I could, not even stand on my own and now on good days I can walk 520 metres.  It has taken two years to get here so steady does it.

Glad you got home safe even after a bad journey

Me too lol  There were so many really ill people there yesterday in wheelchairs and with oxygen and I know that I looked that ill when I first went and was pushed everywhere in the wheelchair.  YesTerday I walked everywhere except to x-ray where the porter took me.

I'm taking Dr Thomas's advice and not comparing lol.  Part of the problem is that being tiny I don't take long steps and I think that the next step up is jogging lol  The thing is that I can walk much further away from test conditions  (especially if there are racks of clothes around) lol, but that's at my pace lol

One thing I was pleased with was after telling him about the funny turn i had in Manchester last Saturday and he had reassured me about sloped we got to Picadilly and moving walkway taking us up to our station wasn't working (it has never been working whenever we have been to that station) and we always have to walk up.  It's quite a slope and I've done it previously with stops on the way or gasping for breath at the top.  Yesterday I walked up my pace, got to the top, visited he loo and got coffee from Costa and still didn't feel breathless.  So there's process lol. I'm still going to write to them because in my opinion having the one on the flat working and that not working is ridiculous  I'll check first though to make sure there isn't a lift
