Benefits and financial help
Having pulmonary hypertension (PH) or being a caregiver for someone with PH can present many financial challenges. If you are unable to work or are classed as disabled because of your PH, you may be eligible for certain benefits. You may also be able to get financial assistance to help with things such as travel to hospital appointments. The level of financial assistance that you are eligible for will depend on your circumstances and how severe your PH is.
Financial support may come from the government or from charities such as the PHA UK. This section of the website gives some information about what benefits you might be eligible for. It also advises you on where to find more information.
This information is taken from the PHA UK publication Benefits and the financial impact of pulmonary hypertension. This is contained in the members’ pack given to all PHA UK members. Remember, anyone can join the PHA UK, and it’s free.
